Questions buyers ask
Can I title and register your trailers in my state?
Yes. Every trailer comes from a manufacturer registered with NHTSA and has a 17-digit VIN, a federal safety (FMVSS) certification label and a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. These are the documents a county tax office or DMV asks for when you title and register a new trailer. In Texas, trailers over 4,000 lb gross weight are titled at the county tax office with Form 130-U; other states have their own forms and weight rules. We give you the VIN before delivery so you can check it on NHTSA's free VIN decoder.
Will the trailer pass the health inspection?
Since July 1, 2026, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) licenses mobile food vendors statewide and inspects each vehicle before licensing. We specify what inspectors check: a 3-compartment sink with drainboards, a separate hand sink, hot and cold running water, fresh and waste water tanks and easy-to-clean stainless surfaces. Your license type depends on your menu (Type II for coffee and snow cones, Type III for cooking), so we review your plan with you before we build. Outside Texas, your state or county health department inspects the trailer: send us its checklist and we match sinks, tanks and hot water to it on your build sheet.
Who installs the fire suppression system?
Trailers that cook with grease need a fire suppression system under the hood. It is installed, or inspected and tagged, in Houston by a Texas-licensed fire protection company before delivery. Outside Houston, your local fire marshal may ask a local licensed company to inspect it again.
How long does it take?
Most trailers take 30 to 50 days to build, plus about 30 to 40 days for shipping, customs and final work in Houston. Plan on roughly 2 to 3 months from order to delivery.
How do payments work?
Nothing is paid before you approve a written build sheet and sign a contract. The deposit and the payment schedule are written in your contract. Payments go only to FASTX LLC's business bank account.
