Food trailer delivery from Houston to 47 states
Every trailer is built to order and finished in Houston. Pick it up here, or we book a licensed carrier to bring it to your address anywhere in the contiguous US except California.
Two ways to get your trailer
Pickup in Houston
No charge. Pick up by appointment with a tow vehicle rated for the trailer's gross weight (GVWR on the federal label). We walk you through the water, power, propane and equipment before you leave.
Delivery by licensed carrier
Towed or on a flatbed, depending on size and distance. Before pickup we send you the carrier's name, USDOT number and insurance certificate. The price is quoted in writing before you sign.
Before we build: your health department
Food trailers are permitted where they operate, by the state or county health department. Many departments review plans before a mobile unit is bought or built. Send us your health department's checklist or plan review form with your quote request. We match sinks, water tanks, the water heater and the layout to it on your written build sheet, and we give you the equipment list and drawings to submit.
What travels with your trailer
- Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO) assigned to you
- Bill of sale from FASTX LLC
- 17-digit VIN from an NHTSA-registered manufacturer and the federal (FMVSS) safety label
- Written build sheet with every piece of equipment
- Fire suppression inspection tag for cooking trailers
You title and register the trailer in your own state with the MCO and bill of sale. Each state guide below lists the agency and forms.
Taxes: delivery vs pickup
The Texas Comptroller treats a food and beverage concession trailer as a mobile office, which is taxed under Texas sales tax rather than motor vehicle tax. Texas Tax Code §151.330 exempts a sale that the seller ships to a point outside Texas by carrier. So:
- Delivered to your state by our carrier: no Texas sales tax. Your state may charge its own sales or use tax when you title or register the trailer; each state guide below lists it.
- Picked up in Houston: Texas sales tax applies (8.25% in Houston), even if you tow it straight out of Texas.
Towing it home yourself
A new trailer is not yet registered when you pick it up. To tow it on Texas roads you need temporary registration: a licensed Texas dealer can issue an Out-of-State Buyer plate, valid for 60 days, or a county tax office can issue a one-trip red temporary plate, valid for up to 15 days. We confirm which one applies when you schedule pickup. Delivery on a carrier's flatbed avoids this step.
Fire suppression and propane
Fire suppression on cooking trailers is installed, or inspected and tagged, in Houston by a Texas-licensed fire protection company, and propane lines are leak-tested in Houston. Your local fire marshal may require a local licensed company to inspect the system again before your first permit.
Where we do not deliver
California. California requires an insignia of approval from its Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on food trailers that an operator works inside, and county health departments will not permit a unit without it. Our trailers do not carry that insignia, so we do not sell into California.
Alaska and Hawaii are not served at this time.

Questions
How much does delivery cost?
It depends on the distance, the trailer size and weight and the carrier's schedule. We quote it in writing with your build sheet, before you sign anything.
Can I pick up the trailer myself?
Yes. Pickup in Houston is free, by appointment. Check that your tow vehicle and hitch are rated for the trailer's gross weight.
Will the trailer pass the health inspection in my state?
Health permits are issued where you operate. Send us your health department's checklist before we build and we match the trailer to it on your build sheet. The final approval is your health department's.
Do I pay Texas sales tax if I live in another state?
Not if we ship the trailer to you by carrier: Texas exempts sales the seller ships out of state. If you pick it up in Houston, Texas sales tax applies. Your own state may charge sales or use tax when you title it.
Can I title the trailer in my state?
Yes. You get the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin assigned to you and a bill of sale, the documents states ask for to title a new trailer.
Why not California?
California requires an HCD insignia of approval on food trailers an operator works inside, and our trailers do not carry it.
